There are those who think that slavery has virtually been distinguished since the 19th century, but sadly they are wrong, slavery not only exists today but it is thriving. In fact it is estimated that there are 27 million slaves today more than double then it was during the 19th century. it is estimated about 55% of slaves today are women and girls and 45% of slaves today are men and boys and that 26% of slaves are under the age of 18. It is estimated that 78% of slaves are victims of forced labour while 22% are victims of forced sex. Slavery does not just exist in third world countries like Syria or whatever, there are also slaves in western countries like Australia, USA, Canada, Greece, etc., Though they do have a small population of slaves in their countries (usually below about 10,000). The conditions for slaves is horrific, slaves would usually work about 16-24 hours a day without a break, if they try to escape they would either be maimed or killed. It is a real tragedy that in 2017 slavery exists right now
